You know if you’re in a position where you’re getting a million applicants and at the end of the day one anyone can do the job you’re hiring for.. I’d be SUPER picky. But if im a start up I’d honestly be open minded to everyone and anything. I may not be picky about grammar but if it looked like they didnt even take the time to look over their punctuation and sentence structures then i’d just chuck ‘em 2 years ago • 5 notesMy professor was talking about how he worked for a company and when they were hiring, the boss said to throw out any resumes that had poor grammar and mis-spelled words, he said he didn’t completely agree with that.
I disagree.
When I own my own business, I’ll do the same thing; because there’s nothing that is a bigger pet peeve than when I see glaring mistakes. In fact, I might take it one step further and be a dick about it, and write the person a letter telling them WHY I wasn’t giving them an interview. Then I’d return their resume that I personally redlined. That’s what I’ll do.
Because I’m a dick and a spelling/grammar nazi.
